About the Artist
Philadelphia native Roberto Lugo’s studio practice merges techniques of porcelain ceramics with the aesthetics of graffiti and aims of community activism. His vessels are pristine examples of grand Royal porcelain, but they are adorned with the faces of friends and family members, familiar tags, and bold patterns.
