About the Artist
Philadelphia-based artist Mark Stockton creates portraits of American pop-cultural icons in a style reminiscent of highly realistic historical drawings and prints. He invests a great deal of time into his depiction of contemporary subjects with complex or tragic personal histories. His fine draughtsmanship represents an intimate, human treatment of these figures, whose images and identities are often rendered superficial and fleeting by the media.
