About the Artist
The works of New York based artist Betsy Kaufman combine formal elements of hard-edge painting and geometric abstraction with sensitive explorations of color and spatial relationships. Though her paintings at first appear minimalist in style, Kaufman is a self-described 'abstract expressionist' who has, for over 25 years, experimented with form and narrative. Her process is highly personal and intuitive and her paintings can be read as attempts at visual storytelling, conversations using shapes and colors.
